Description
We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Cashier & Barista to join our team. If you love connecting with people, serving delicious drinks and desserts, and being part of a cozy, community-focused space — we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Promote open communication amongst our team
- Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture of a high-performance team
- Greet customers and take food and drink orders
- Operate a POS system and receive payment from customers in cash or by credit card
- Provide accurate changes to customers
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction with our drink products and services
- Assists with new team member training
- Maintain the cleanliness of the shop and complete daily cleaning duties
- Control food costs and record any food waste
- Organize and date (first in, first out rule!) inventory
- Maintain food safety and freshness at all times
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance
- Meet store operating policies and standards
- Prepare food and beverages according to standard recipes for customers
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 17 years of age
- Six months of minimum working experience in a similar industry or environment (preferred)
- Food handler certification
- Can stand for long periods
- Ability to work at least 15 hours per week
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Possesses a strong sense of teamwork
- Demonstrates a professional and ethical working attitude
- Available to work flexible hours such as early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling, and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to learn quickly and request clarification when needed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long hours
