Description

We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Cashier & Barista to join our team. If you love connecting with people, serving delicious drinks and desserts, and being part of a cozy, community-focused space — we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Promote open communication amongst our team
• Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture of a high-performance team
• Greet customers and take food and drink orders
• Operate a POS system and receive payment from customers in cash or by credit card
• Provide accurate changes to customers
• Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction with our drink products and services
• Assists with new team member training
• Maintain the cleanliness of the shop and complete daily cleaning duties
• Control food costs and record any food waste
• Organize and date (first in, first out rule!) inventory
• Maintain food safety and freshness at all times
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance
• Meet store operating policies and standards
• Prepare food and beverages according to standard recipes for customers
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications

• At least 17 years of age
• Six months of minimum working experience in a similar industry or environment (preferred)
• Food handler certification
• Can stand for long periods
• Ability to work at least 15 hours per week
• Outgoing and friendly personality
• Possesses a strong sense of teamwork
• Demonstrates a professional and ethical working attitude
• Available to work flexible hours such as early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling, and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
• Ability to learn quickly and  request clarification when needed
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long hours
